Setaria Italica

ZF1385

Back Zoo Nature Setaria is a natural grass variety with bronze-colored spikelets, carefully harvested, untreated and packaged to safely give to your cockatiel or rodent. 100% Natural and Untreated. Setaria, also called bird millet, conifer millet or foxtail millet, is found in almost all over the world and has many varieties. Setaria is a complementary food with a high acceptance level: birds and rodents love to nibble on it! Suitable for all types of birds and seed-eating rodents such as rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters.

Setaria is not only a healthy variation to your animal's diet, but also stimulates natural foraging and eating behavior. This is because the setaria will have to be peeled before it can be eaten. As a result, your bird or rodent has to make extra efforts to get its food, just like in nature. For rodents, the setaria is also fun to spread (possibly in pieces) throughout the enclosure, so that your rodent has to search for his or her food.

For birds, the Back Zoo Nature Grass Keeper is ideal: place the Setaria (possibly in combination with other grains or grasses) upright in the Back Zoo Nature Grass Keeper so that the spikelets point upwards, just as they grow in nature. The keeper is then easily attached to any trellis with a screw and wing nut, allowing you to present and offer this enrichment naturally. In addition, the Setaria does not remain lying around on the floor and stays clean. Functional and a natural look in the enclosure!
