The Back Zoo Nature Bird Sun System is a set consisting of a fitting with reflector cap and a ballast. This set is required to light the Back Zoo Nature Bird Sun Lamp. Mount the system above the cage and provide your bird with the most sunlight-like light with high frequency UV-A and UV-B radiation.

UV-A is very important for your bird's vision. When a bird lacks UV-A, he sees less well, which can hinder him with daily activities such as recognizing food. UV-A also stimulates your bird's appetite, breeding and behavior.

UV-B radiation is essential for your bird's health, allowing him to produce vitamin D3 and absorb calcium. Calcium is very important for healthy bones, feathers and eggs.

The Back Zoo Nature Bird Sun UV Lamp also emits heat, similar to the heat that comes from the sun. 

Most indoor parrots are deficient in UV-A & B this is easily remedied with our Back Zoo Nature Bird Sun UV Lamp. Hang the lamp above your pet parrot's enclosure and make sure it is on for 10 to 12 hours a day. In the breeding season, we recommend increasing this to 15 hours per day. The advice is to replace the UV lamps at least once a year as the UV output decreases significantly after a year of use.
